SINNER’S CUP

A sinner’s cup is hard to withstand
Nothing to quench as it becomes quicksand.
Measuring one’s life in a cup of one’s hand
Do you feel the tug at your throat?
A life of sin? At the end of one’s rope.
Your tongue is like sandpaper; nothing gets in
But to quench your thirst with more sin
Thinking only with the unquenchable thirst
Have you forgot to put God first?
From sand to wine or wine to sand?
This question is left in your hands
How do you measure a life full of sin?
Only to be forgotten again.
Choose wisely before you fill up your cup
A life of sin is not enough. Fill the cup with the word.
This way your thirst won’t quench anymore.
Take your time with each sip before you fill up your cup again.
